The Parker Kitchens team, makes and installs bespoke kitchens and fitted interiors for homeowners across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

Based at the former Old Cattle Market in Towcester, Parker Kitchens combines its showroom and workshop on one site, with cabinetry made to measure by its own team.

Where It Began

Darren began his career as an apprentice in carpentry and joinery at the age of 16. While completing his apprenticeship, he helped his parents build a conservatory at their home. When they later decided to replace their kitchen, Bell of Northampton visited the property and the company’s managing director noticed the quality of the work.

That introduction led to Darren subcontracting for the company, fitting kitchens and bathrooms and gaining first-hand experience of how kitchens were supplied and installed. It was during this work that he began to see the limitations of standard, pre-built cabinetry. Units did not always make the best use of the available space, while alterations and replacement parts could create unnecessary delays.

The experience helped shape the approach Parker Kitchens still takes today: cabinetry made around the individual room rather than relying entirely on standard sizes.

Made in Towcester

Parker Kitchens is based at the former Old Cattle Market on Watling Street East, where its workshop and showroom sit side by side. When Darren acquired the premises, the building was largely derelict and was gradually adapted to suit the needs of the business.

Today, customers can visit the showroom to explore designs, finishes and appliances, while their cabinetry is made on site in the workshop.

Manufacturing in-house allows units to be tailored in height, width and depth to suit each room. This is particularly useful in older properties or spaces with alcoves, uneven walls and other architectural features, where standard cabinetry can leave valuable space unused.

The team also considers smaller details that can improve kitchen storage. For example, where the usual void behind a kitchen cabinet is not needed for pipework, the cabinetry can be made deeper to make better use of the available space.

The business has grown alongside the premises and now includes designers, workshop staff, project managers, installers and specialist trades.

How the Service Has Developed

What began with kitchen and bathroom fitting has expanded considerably over the years. Alongside kitchens, Parker Kitchens now creates fitted furniture for other areas of the home, including wardrobes and bathroom cabinetry.

We also offer a choice between supply-only kitchens and fully managed renovations. For larger projects, the team can coordinate work including plumbing, electrics, flooring, decorating and structural alterations such as kitchen-diner knock throughs.

A dedicated project manager oversees the different stages and trades, providing customers with one point of contact throughout the project.

The Team Behind Parker Kitchens

Parker Kitchens is very much a team effort. Kitchen designer Irfan works with customers to develop layouts and specifications, while the workshop team manufactures and hand-finishes the cabinetry. Project managers, installers and specialist trades then coordinate the work in customers’ homes.

Together, the team can manage a project from the first survey and design through to manufacturing, installation, final checks and handover.

Over the past 30 years, kitchens have changed considerably. Open-plan living has become more common, appliances and lighting have become more advanced, and kitchens are now expected to work for cooking, entertaining and everyday family life.

Customer expectations have changed too, with clear communication, careful scheduling and coordinated trades becoming an increasingly important part of a renovation. Parker Kitchens has continued to develop its service around those changes while keeping made-to-measure cabinetry and local manufacturing at the centre of what it does.

What is a Which? Trusted Trader?

Which? Trusted Traders is a scheme from Which?, created to help customers find businesses they can trust.

It is designed to help customers find reputable trades and home improvement businesses that have been independently checked and verified.

Businesses cannot simply display the Which? Trusted Trader logo on their website. Before being accepted onto the scheme, businesses have to complete an assessment process designed to check that they are reputable, well-run and committed to treating customers fairly.

What we had to do to qualify

To become a Which? Trusted Trader, Parker Kitchens had to complete a detailed assessment.

This included checks on our business, our paperwork, our insurance, our customer processes and the way we handle projects. Our quotes, terms, and procedures were all reviewed, and customer references were checked as part of the process.

We also had to show that we work in line with the Which? Trusted Traders Code of Conduct. This covers important areas such as clear pricing, fair terms, professional conduct, guarantees, warranties and complaint handling.

For us, this is in line with the way we already work. We have always believed in clear quotes, thorough project management, and good communication.

Why this matters for our customers

Choosing a kitchen or home renovation company is a big decision. You are inviting people into your home, trusting them with an important project and relying on them to manage several stages of work.

Being listed as a Which? Trusted Trader gives our customers another layer of confidence. It shows that Parker Kitchens has been independently assessed, not just on the quality of our work, but on the way we run the business and look after our customers. For anyone planning a project, that can make the decision feel a little easier.

The same Parker Kitchens standards, with added reassurance

Our approach has not changed – we still design, make and install bespoke cabinetry from our Towcester workshop, with each project carefully managed through to completion.

From the first design conversation to the final handover, we focus on clear communication, considered design and quality workmanship. Our team looks after the details, coordinates the trades and keeps the project moving with as little stress as possible.

Our cabinetry and construction are covered by a 6-year workmanship warranty, and we use quality components such as Blum runners and hinges, which come with a lifetime guarantee.

Becoming a Which? Trusted Trader simply gives customers another reason to feel reassured before they begin their project with us.

Selected from among more than three million home professionals, this recognition is especially meaningful because it is rooted in what matters most to us: the experience our clients have from the very first conversation through to the final handover.

Five-star rated service

The Houzz Service Award celebrates companies that consistently deliver excellent customer service, as reflected in client ratings and reviews. For us, it’s about always providing the very best service to our customers, and being trusted by the people who invite us into their homes.

What this award means to us

Designing and fitting a kitchen or bathroom is a major investment and a big decision, and that’s why we’ve always seen exceptional service as essential. Winning a service award reflects the effort behind the scenes: the workshop craftsmanship, the designing, the checks, and the coordination that keep a project running smoothly. It might feel like a small thing, but honest feedback helps other homeowners choose a professional with confidence, and it helps us keep improving.

A word from our founder, Darren Parker

Darren Parker, Founder of Parker Kitchens, said:

“We are genuinely delighted to receive the Best of Houzz 2026 Service Award. Our team puts a huge amount of care into every project, and we never take trust for granted. To have our customer service recognised through client feedback means a great deal to all of us. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a review and share their experience.”

What this means for you

Awards are great, but what matters is what our customers experience day to day. This recognition reinforces the promise we make to every client:

• We will be clear and responsive, so you always know what’s happening and what comes next
• We will respect your home and your time, keeping the process tidy, organised and well managed
• We will deliver a kitchen/bathroom that’s designed properly, made carefully, and finished beautifully

If you are considering a new kitchen or bathroom and want a team that puts service at the heart of the process, we would love to help.
